Certified Mail is used for important letters concerning legal and business matters such as lawsuits, debt collection, insurance policy changes, construction liens, asset repossesion, and hundreds more. Thousands of state statues and Federal Codes specific the use of Certified Mail because it provide USPS Proof of Acceptance (Mailing) and Proof of Delivery.

Each Certified Mail piece received a 22 digit code from the USPS. One way to check the status of your Certified Mail piece is to type the 22 digit code into a search box on USPS.com. This is quite tedius and prone to error.

If you use SimpleCertifiedMail.com, the USPS Proof of Acceptance (Electronic) is automatically posted to your account in PDF format, within hours of the mailpiece getting its first scan by the USPS. The USPS Proof of Delivery (Electronic) and Return Receipt (Electronic) are posted to your account within 24 hours of the letter being delivered, depending on whether you chose to receive the recipient's signature or not.

In addition, you can have the Proof of Acceptance Electronic, Proof of Delivery Electronic, and Return Receipt Electronic (all are PDF files) automatically emailed to you and others.
